Meeting Minutes: 01-Nov-58

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Our new Heirs are Tsarevich Ivan and Tsarevna Katalena, from Falcon’s Quarry. Huzzah!

St. John of the Cross is planning a three-year renovation project for the building where we meet. The project’s start date, or how it will affect our meetings, is unknown at this time. Chairs and tables may be unavailable for meetings at times, as happened on Nov. 1. Cleftlands will be asked to move our supplies out of Room 10.

Dagny (January) is organizing a group outing to Upcycle Parts Shop, a Cleveland thrift store for crafting supplies. The outing is 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. See details on the baronial Facebook page.

UPCOMING BARONIAL EVENTS

Dressed to Kill, Nov. 11 at the meeting site: Online registration and pre-registration at meetings are available. There is room for more teachers to sign up to present classes. See Lady Juliane if you want to be in the fashion show. Royal retainers and royal room guards are needed.

See Baron Calum to sign up to teach a class on armor, and see Baron Edward about costuming classes. There will be an A&S display and fashion show. See Mistress Milesent for details.

UPCOMING REVELS

Nov. 29 Rapier Tournament and Dessert Revel: A Facebook event page has the Google sign-up sheet. Volunteers are needed to be inspirations for the combatants. How the lists will be run is TBD. See our rapier marshal Lord Reinhardt to learn more.

Yule Revel, Dec. 20: The Cooks Guild challenge: make something with cranberries. Lady Claricia and Dagny (January) are organizing the revel. There will be a Noblesse Largess exchange; see Mistress Thorhalla for details. There will be a Not a Cookie Exchange; ask MOAS Dame Elizabeth for details.

OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Youth Officer: Lady Chaiya Is planning a special youth-friendly project for Yule. She would like to speak to parents and youth about this project.

New Iron Key Minister: Lord Tryggr wants to step down by the end of the year. See him for details on the position.

Seneschal: Bids are being accepted for Regular Event, NOWM and Standard Bearers. See our seneschal Mistress Angharad if you are thinking about organizing an event.

MOAS: Upcoming class topics include making fibula. Teachers can sign up for slots through the beginning of next year. GUILD ANNOUNCEMENTS

Needleworkers Guild: Upcoming projects include making scroll cases. Meetings will be at Critical Hit gaming store in Cleveland Heights on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 6:30. See Lady Miriana to learn more.

Armorers Guild: Meetings are held on most Thursdays. The host requires that participants be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. See Baron Calum for details.

OLD BUSINESS

Exchequer: Members are asked to donate $2 per meeting, or $100 per year, to cover the cost of the meeting hall rental.

Quartermaster: The quartermaster must be notified at least two weeks in advance if a member wishes to borrow baronial gear.

Baronial meetings: Set-up starts at 6:30 p.m. and activities start at 7 p.m. A brief business meeting is held at 8:15 p.m.
