- The last Baronial Meeting before Pennsic is 19-Jul. The first one after Pennsic is 23-Aug. We will not meet 26-Jul through 16-Aug, due to Pennsic packing, Pennsic, and Pennsic clean-up.
- James Barkley’s brother, Richard, has lost his house in a fire. While he is doing well, and currently has a place to stay, he could use some assistance. You can contact James Barkley at 216-374-8763 or on Facebook as Chuck Minch.
Events
- Brawl at the Crooked Dragon Inn is 8-Jul in Falcon’s Quarry. There will be archery, rapier and armored combat, and equestrian activities. There is no site fee, but a free-will donation is requested.
- Pennsic Battlefield Hospitality is looking for volunteers to help keep our fighters on the field. Please signup to ensure we know we have enough people coming at http://signup.com/go/vJnDvvM.
- Standard-Bearer’s will be 2-Sep. Meinhard is the Event Steward. If you are interesting in helping out please get in touch with him to volunteer.
Demos
- 16-17 Sept is the Mapleside Demo. Please plan on coming..
- Sir Artair is planning to step down as Demo Coordinator in the next three to four months. Please contact him if you’d like to know more about the position.
Guilds
Guilds are the special interest groups of the SCA: people working together to focus on a particular activity. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings.
- Armorer’s Guild (and the less official Booze and Schmooze) meets at Ealdred and Clairiel’s home this Thursday, 7-10 pm. Please contact Calum at calum@att.net for information or directions.
- Unofficial Fencing Practice meets again this upcoming Sunday. For info on when and where, please contact Cynwrig for details atjimpretz@sbcglobal.net.
- Scribe’s Guild meets Monday, 10-Jul at Brackenburye Cottage at 7 pm. Please contact Melisent at grace@case.edu for directions or further information.
- Needleworkers meets this upcoming Tue 11-Jul at 7 pm Madelaine’s home, where plenty of cutting table space will be available. Directions will be posted online, or contact her at lymadelaine@sbcglobal.net.
- Archery Guild meets Tuesdays at the home of Gwyneth and Muldonney, starting around 6 pm, and running into twilight. They have a great deal of loaner equipment, including Combat Archery arrows, so if you’re at all interested in either target or combat archery please come. With sufficient bribes, live Combat Archery targets may be provided. Contact Muldonney for details on effective bribes.
- Leatherwork’s Guild will meet at Oliver’s at 7 pm on Tuesday for an Open Bench. Please contact Oliver at adifferenttwist@gmail.com or on Oliver Stillman on Facebook for directions and information.

- Cook’s will gather for ‘Cooking over Fire’ on 9-Jul (the day after Brawl) 1 pm at the Strawberry Lane Picnic Shelter in the North Chagrin Reservation of the Metroparks. Everyone is welcome.
- Cook’s will also gather on 16-Jul at 1 pm Angharad’s home to make sausage and sauerkraut for the Standard Bearer’s feast and ourselves. Please contact her at BaronessAngharad@gmail.com for information.

- At Pennsic, the Midrealm is allied with the East. Therefore, the baronial tent will be set up on the WEST side of the battlefield, rather than the east, as is usual.

- There are many opportunities to volunteer supporting the Midrealm Royalty and Royal Encampment at Pennsic. Please volunteer as Peer on Duty, gate guards, or retainers.

- The list of Unbelted Champion’s for Pennsic has been announced. Sirius and Vito are on the team, as are John the Ox, Avengar, and Ivan Shisov.
- Please help set up the Baronial tent at 10 am on Tues of Peace Week. Gianna cannot do this alone.
