Seneschal
- The last Baronial Meeting before Pennsic is 19-Jul, next week.. The first one after Pennsic is 23-Aug. We will not meet 26-Jul through 16-Aug, due to Pennsic packing, Pennsic, and Pennsic clean-up.
- We currently pay a bit over $400 a month to use our meeting site, a number that is going to rise. Paying for the site is primarily covered by weekly donations and annual tithes, as well as a small part of event profits.
Events
- NOWM had a total attendance of 743, more than any previous NOWM. After all expenses were paid, NOWM realized a profit of $3,717.03.
- Pennsic Battlefield Hospitality is looking for volunteers to help keep our fighters on the field. Please signup to ensure we know we have enough people coming at http://signup.com/go/vJnDvvM.
- Standard-Bearer’s will be 2-Sep. Meinhard is the Event Steward. If you are interesting in helping out please get in touch with him to volunteer.
- If you’d like to help with Standard Bearer’s feast, the Cook’s guild will be making sausage and sauerkraut this Sunday.
Demos
- 16-17 Sept is the Mapleside Demo. Please plan on coming.
- Eve is organizing a a demo on 13-Jul (tomorrow) from 10-11 am at a Vacation Bible School at Bethany English Lutheran Church at 15460 Triskett Rd in Cleveland. Please let her know if you are coming, and what you can bring. Please arrive by 9:30 to have time to change and set up.
- Sir Artair is planning to step down as Demo Coordinator in the next three to four months. Please contact him if you’d like to know more about the position.
Guilds
Guilds are the special interest groups of the SCA: people working together to focus on a particular activity. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings.
- Armorer’s Guild (and the less official Booze and Schmooze) meets at Ealdred and Clairiel’s home this Thursday, 7-10 pm. Please contact Calum at calum@att.net for information or directions.
- Unofficial Fencing Practice meets again this upcoming Sunday. For info on when and where, please contact Cynwrig for details atjimpretz@sbcglobal.net. The Fencing Practice will be on hiatus between Pennsic and Memorial Day.
- Needleworkers will meet next after Pennsic.
- Archery Guild meets Tuesdays at the home of Gwyneth and Muldonney, starting around 6 pm, and running into twilight. They have a great deal of loaner equipment, including Combat Archery arrows, so if you’re at all interested in either target or combat archery please come. With sufficient bribes, live Combat Archery targets may be provided. Contact Muldonney for details on effective bribes.
- Leatherwork’s Guild will meet at Oliver’s at 7 pm on Tuesday for an Open Bench. Please contact Oliver at adifferenttwist@gmail.com or on Oliver Stillman on Facebook for directions and information.
- Woodworkers Guild meets all Thursdays until Pennsic 7-10 pm at Meinhard’s home. Please contact Meinhard at Meinhard.hammerschmidt@gmail.com for directions or with questions. You can also check the Cleftlands Woodworkers Facebook page.

- At Pennsic, the Midrealm is allied with the East. Therefore, the baronial tent will be set up on the WEST side of the battlefield, rather than the east, as is usual.

- There are many opportunities to volunteer supporting the Midrealm Royalty and Royal Encampment at Pennsic. Please volunteer as Peer on Duty, gate guards, or retainers at http://pennsic.castlewalls.com/
- Pennsic like all SCA event is staffed with volunteers. Become one of them. Baron and Baroness
- At Brawl at the Crooked Dragon Inn, Gwyneth, who ran the Archery Field for hte day, received her Award of the Purple Fret for her service to archery.
- The last local event before Pennsic is Encampment at the Castle in Three Towers this upcoming weekend.
- Crispin and Gianna will be serving as Peer on Duty at Midrealm Royal Tue, 8-Aug from 2-4. Please sign up as guard or retainer if you’d like to join them there..
