This past weekend, at Mounted War Games, Forester Cadfan of the Autumn Woods was put on Vigil for Pelican.
Zipcode inclusion poll closes September 16. The poll asks residents of Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties who have participated in Cleftlands activities, as well as residents within our current Cleftlands borders, to weigh in on a proposal to formally expand Cleftlands to include the aforementioned counties. Emphasis — the poll is not a vote; rather, it is to weigh opinions. This does not create a new group, change how Cleftlands operates, or change where anyone is expected to participate. Responses will only be accepted from respondents residing in Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula Counties. If you have further questions about the poll, please speak to Sir Crispin. Labros offers to transport entries for the Scroll Blank Challenge for Coronation.
From Duchess Runa – I am Royalty Liasson for Crown Tournament. A Silent Auction will be held at September Dessert Revel to help offset costs of food and drink in the event’s Royalty Room. (Society law prohibits such funds from coming from the Barony’s coffers — the expenses are paid by the Liasson.) Please consider donating an item or items for this Auction. Cash donations will also be gratefully accepted. Donations will be accepted up until the day of the Dessert Revel.

Upcoming Demos
9/13- Demo at the Cleveland Gaming Classic: participants will be meeting after business meeting
9/19- Garrettsville Chamber of Commerce: about 10 armored combat fighters needed. At present, three have signed on. The demo will be concurrent with a local Octoberfest. The following week, on 9/23, an armored combat practice will be held in Garrettsville to allow interested newcomers to participate. Contact Lord Bennett or Forester Cadfan for details and sign-up.
12/7- A&S demo at the East Cuyahoga County Genealogical Society, 6:30 pm. More details will be shared next week.
Officer Announcements
From Minister of A&S, Meistara Thorhalla –9/23 will be a class on the Japanese technique of mending clothing, Sashiko, to be taught by Lady Nadyezhda the Simple.
From the Chronicler – The Fall issue of the Baronial Newsletter, the Internebbles, is now on the Baronial web page, and has been distributed to the Baronial email.
Lord Robert atte Northclyfe would like to remind everyone about the upcoming election in the Mundane World. He has brought voter registration forms and vote-by-mail applications to meeting. Also, he will start pre-reg for Crown Tourney next week.
Guild Announcements
Armorers Guild will be meeting tomorrow, 9/10, at their usual place and time. Contant Baron Master Master Sir Calum for details.
Cooks Guild will meet after business meeting. This month’s theme is Something Local. Dishes for the September Dessert Revel should be made using as many local ingredients as possible. On 10/11 will be Cooking over Fire at the home of Ealdred and Clairiel.
Addenda
This evening marks the first Thrown Weapons practice at Cleftlands, as part of our Wednesday activities. Hosted by Captain Trygger and Mistress Milesent, this evening saw 7 participants. Further practices may be held over until evening light stays later, next spring.
Lady Chaiya asks for donations of clean Mason Jars for a major canning project, if people have any to spare.
No Garb-a-Thon this weekend.
