IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW

There will be no meetings on Nov. 23, Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 due to the holidays. Meetings will resume Jan. 4.

DESSERT REVELS

Nov. 30: Baronial Fencing Tournament. Each combatant will need a person to be their inspiration. See the Baron and Baroness for details.

Dec. 14: Yule Revel. Details TBD

BARON AND BARONESS: Members are encouraged to issue baronial challenges, either to themselves or to others. See the Baron and Baroness for details.

OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Seneschal: Cleftlands has entered a bid to host the 2023 Fall Coronation, Sept. 30 at the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds. Event stewards are THL Jolicia atte Northclyfe and Lady Jaquelinne la Deiciere. Kingdom will notify us if we have won the bid in January.

Minster of Arts and Sciences: There will be a scroll-making session at 6:30 p.m.  Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Critical Hit Game Store, 13433 Cedar Rd, Cleveland Heights. Sewing machines are needed. See MOAS Angharad for details.

A group will take a docent-led tour of an exhibit, “Tales of the City: Drawing in the Netherlands from Bosch to Bruegel” at the Cleveland Museum of Art on Sunday, Nov. 27. See MOAS Angharad for details and to let her know you are coming.

A drawing session, led by Lady Rivkah Mispira, will be held every second Wednesday of the month. Subjects will be clothed models or objects. Volunteers are needed to model or to bring cool stuff to draw. Bring art supplies. Contact Rivkah (Lauren JC on Facebook) for details.

Archery marshal: About 26 archers took part in a regional archery practice on Oct. 30. The day included combat and target archery practice.

GUILD  ANNOUNCEMENTS

Makers Guild: The guild will meet Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lorain County Community College’s Fab Lab. Members will work on a Yule project. See Lord Rayner for details.

Armorers Guild: This guild meets most Thursdays in Berea. The host requires that participants be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to attend. See Baron Calum for details.

OLD BUSINESS

No more masks: As of Dec. 1, there will be no mask requirements or contact tracing in any Kingdom of the SCA.

Exchequer: Members are asked to donate $2 per meeting, or $50 per year, to cover the cost of the meeting hall rental.

Quartermaster: The quartermaster must be notified at least two weeks in advance if a member wishes to borrow baronial gear.

Baronial meetings: Set-up starts at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. We must vacate the building before 10 p.m.
