Announcements

  • Barony is still seeking a new Youth Marshal. Please contacts Gianna or the Barons, or apply online.
  • The Barony are still seeking a January event bid, which needs in by 9/26. If the Barony is just worn out, we will skip the event in 2016.

Demos

  • Mapleside Demo is 9/19-20. Please let Artair know if you can assist with this major demo. He’ll be posting information to Cleftlist, the website, and the Facebook page.
  • Newcomer’s Demos at the 9/23 meeting, between Mapleside and Coronation. He’s looking for people to demonstrate activities, teach small classes, or set up displays.
  • Brendoken is looking for assistance this Saturday, 9-4 with a Demo in the Canton area. Gianna can provide info regarding this demo.

Events

  • Coronation
    • Zsof, as Royalty Liaison, is looking for people to serve as guards and retainers, or to offer food and drink or gifts for the gift basket. Contact her on Facebook to let her know if you can contribute.
    • Madelaine has Troll open at all meetings until the event. She is also looking for volunteers to help sit Troll at the event. Contact her at LyMadelaine@sbcglobal.net
    • For Feast, many hands make light work. Please volunteer to Angharad. Currently, we’re looking for people to volunteer bread baking, or to assist in a morning of pies and pierogis on 9/12.Please contact her at BaronessAngharad@gmail.com.
    • Claricia is looking for donations of baked goods for the breakfast bar. She’s also looking for someone to assist with baking cookies for the lunch tavern.

Guilds

  • Needleworkers will be meeting next Tuesday at Madelaine’s to work on a Baronial project, with follow-up at the next meeting. LyMadelaine@sbcglobal.net
    Dance Guild will be meeting inside next Wednesday.

  • Unofficial fencing practice will not be meeting this Sunday – it is still on hiatus.

Baron & Baroness

  • Pounce is this weekend, only 2 hours away. It is a camping event with numerous activities including TOC and Tournament of Defense.
  • The travel challenge continues: prizes for traveling to SCA events 1500 miles to events between NOWM and January event, and for the most miles in such travel.
  • September Dessert Revel (9/30) will be the next Rapier Tourney.
  • Lord Brendoken has kindly offered locations on his lands for the Cleftlands January 2016 event.
  • He also pleaded with the Barons Cleftlands for support in defending his lands (and bacon) from the depredations of Duke Edmund of Lozengia in the Battle of the Five Armies at Harvest Days on 9/12. Our Barons could not battle Lozengia, as Constanza owes a personal debt to Lozengia for setting her on the martial path. Nonetheless, from their great love of Brendoken, they have charged their Standard Bearer, Matheus, to lead the Cleftlands combatants in supporting Brendoken at this great battle.
