Yes, with a little persistence you can make your own period shoes! Many styles of medieval shoes can be made with relatively simple tools and techniques. This class will provide an overview of medieval turnshoes, demonstrate basic techniques, and provide resources for learning more. If I can make shoes, so can you. Come hear about period footwear, see some examples, and learn from some of my mistakes.
If you want to start making a pattern for your own shoes, bring a plastic bag large enough to put your foot in, a roll of duct tape, a pair of scissors that will cut cardboard, and a permanent marker.
