Demos

  • Mapleside Demo is September 18-19. There is now a Facebook group set up to share information.

Events

  • Sorcha is Class Coordinator for Regular event and is already looking for classes.

Officer Announcements

  • Sir Crispin is asking for information about the projects people have carried out in July, August and September for the A&S report due at the end of September. He also asked for people interested in teaching classes at meeting to let him know. Mistress Maria noted that teaching at meeting is a good preparation for teaching at events or Pennsic.
  • On September 7 Dulcia will be teaching a class on Block Printing on Fabric at next week’s meeting, starting at 7:30.
  • The September Dessert Revel (9/28) will also be the Newcomer’s meeting to greet those coming from the Mapleside Demo. Please come all dressed up, and with activities or displays to share with others. The same day will be the next Cook’s Challenge, on the theme of Apples and Pears.

Guilds

Guilds are the special interest groups of the SCA: people working together to focus on a particular activity. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings.

  • Woodworkers Guild meets this Thursday, 7-10 pm at Meinhard’s home. Please contact Meinhard at Meinhard.hammerschmidt@gmail.com for directions or with questions. You can also check the Cleftlands Woodworkers Facebook page.
  • Armorer’s Guild will be meeting at Ealdred’ and Clariel’s home this Thursday, 7-10 pm . Please contact Calum at calum@att.net for information or directions.
  • There is NO Unofficial Fencing Practice this Labor Day weekend.
  • Please check the Cleftlands Equestrian Guild’s Facebook page to see if they are holding practice this upcoming Sunday.
  • East side archery practice meets next Tuesday starting at 5:30 at the home of Gwyneth and Muldonney, 411 Douglas Blvd, Richmond Heights, OH 44143. Donations will be used to replace archery butts, foam, and targets. Loaner equipment is available.
  • Cook’s Guild will be meeting next Wednesday at 7:30 at the business meeting to discuss fall activities, and the Regular event feast.
  • Last Sundays the regional Ministers of Arts and Sciences schedule a noon ‘meet-up’ at the Cleveland Museum of Art to visit and explore the museum. Please post on Facebook if you’re planning to be there to coordinate with others.
  • Scribes guild will NOT be meeting on September 5 due to Labor Day; the meeting has been rescheduled September 19.

Barons

  • Pounce is this upcoming Weekend: a camping event only 2.5 hours away.
  • The next Armored Tourney will be held on November 30 at the November Dessert Revel.
  • Baronial Court – James ap Llewelyn was appointed the premier Cleftlands Equestrian Champion.
