IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW

March 25: Regional A&S Fair. Held at the meeting site. Participants to enter for judging and scorers are needed. Participants can also bring items for display and feedback only. There will be a Craftspersons Green for people working on projects; no need to sign up beforehand. The start time for the event will be posted on the baronial website. See Sir Crispin for details.

UPCOMING CLEFTLANDS EVENTS

April 15: Standard Bearers. Held at the meeting site. A Google form for preregistration will be on the event website soon. The parameters for competition in armored combat, rapier and archery will be posted soon. The theme for the A&S competition is “Something you would take to war.” You can compete even if you don’t want to be a champion, and can take part in multiple events. Lord Rojhon is in charge of the all-indigenous foods feast; help is needed to cook and serve. See Lord Tarmach for event details.

May 27-28: Crown Tournament and Kingdom A&S: Ashtabula Fairgrounds. Online registration should be active next week. Hotel room blocks are available. Help with certain tasks is needed. See Lady Katherin verch Rhys for details.

Crown tokens: Help is needed to put together the tokens, which are beads on wire. Some wire-work experience and tools are needed. See THL Jolicia if you would like a kit to work on at home.

Crown road signs: Help will be needed to repaint the barony’s SCA road sign sandwich boards prior to Crown Tournament. Look for a FB event page for details, or see Ginevra (Jyngyr).

OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Chatelaine: Our Chatelaine, Lord Lord Ezra ha-Yona, is looking for book recommendations that can be passed along to newcomers seeking information about various cultures and personas.

A&S: The Cleftlands group trip to see the Tudor exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art is set for Sunday, March 26 at noon. Group tickets are closed. Details will be posted on the baronial Facebook page. See our Minister of Arts and Sciences Mistress Elizabeth for details.

Classes in how to register an SCA name, making a T-tunic, lace making and drawing session are coming up. See the baronial calendar on the website for details.

OPEN OFFICER POSITIONS

Youth officer: One candidate has stepped forward, but more can apply. The application is on the baronial website. Applicants will be discussed at the April 5 officer meeting. See the current youth officer Lord Rohan for information.

Gold Key: Still open. Applications are on the baronial website. See our seneschal Mistress Angharad for more information about these job openings.

GUILD ANNOUNCEMENTS

Makers Guild: The guild is on hiatus, but see Lord Rayner if you need access to equipment.

Armorers Guild: This guild meets most Thursdays in Berea. The host requires that participants be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to attend. See Baron Calum for details.

OLD BUSINESS

Exchequer: Members are asked to donate $2 per meeting, or $100 per year, to cover the cost of the meeting hall rental.

Quartermaster: The quartermaster must be notified at least two weeks in advance if a member wishes to borrow baronial gear.

Baronial meetings: Set-up starts at 6:30 p.m. and activities start at 7 p.m. A brief business meeting is held about 9 p.m.
